How do I set-up my printer?

To optimize your store's operations and provide customers with transaction proof, klikit supports Docket (receipt) and Sticker printing. Follow this guide to set up your printer for seamless use with klikit.

Checklist

General Requirements:
  1. Compatible Printer (e.g., RPP02N)
  2. Correct Paper Roll Size: 58mm or 80mm for docket printers/ 50mm x 40mm for sticker printers

Additional for USB Printers:
  1. Wire for printer power adapter
  2. Wire for printer to the tablet/USB-C hub
  3. If needed: USB Type 3.0 to USB Type-C Converter

Step 1: Installing A New Paper Roll



  1. Insert a new paper roll into the slot (check alignment; refer to photo above).
  2. Pull out some paper.
  3. Close the cover and turn the printer on.

Step 2: Connecting A Printer

For Bluetooth Printers

  1. Pair the Printer with Your Device:
    1. Navigate to your klikit device’s Bluetooth Settings and turn Bluetooth on.
    2. Search for the printer in the Bluetooth device list.
    3. Select the printer and enter the PIN (usually 1234 or 0000, or as specified in the printer manual).
  2. Connect the Printer in klikit:
    • Open the klikit for Business app (download from the Google Play Store)
    • Grant Location Permission for the klikit app when prompted.
    • Go to Account > Printer Settings.
    • Tap Show Devices and select your printer.
    • Confirm the status changes to Connected (highlighted in green).
                        
            
      If you dont receive the pop-up, can connect printer by following these steps:
  1. Go to "Account"
  2. Tap on "Printer Setting"
  3. On the right corner bottom, tap "Show Devices"
  4. Connect your printer until the status shows "Bluetooth Successfully Connected" and turns green.

The maximum radius distance of your device from the Bluetooth printer is 15-20 feet. 

For USB Printers

  1. Prepare Your Printer and Cables:
    • Connect the printer to your klikit device using a USB Type A to USB Type C cable or hub.
  2. Connect the Printer in klikit:
    • Open the klikit for Business app.
    • Go to Account > Printer Settings.
    • Your USB printer should automatically appear. Select it to connect.
  3. Simultaneous Printing and Charging:
    • Use a USB-C hub with multiple ports to charge your device while using a USB printer.

Step 3: Configuring A Printer on klikit app

For Docket (Receipt) Printing

  1. In the klikit app: go to "Printer Settings" or in the klikit Cloud web-app: go to the "Locations"
  2. Select the printer type as "Docket"
  3. Choose the correct paper roll size (58mm or 80mm).
  4. Follow the Bluetooth or USB setup steps above to connect the printer.

For Sticker Printing

Printer must be connected using bluetooth. Sticker size must be 50mm x 40mm. 
  1. In the klikit app: go to "Printer Settings" or in the klikit Cloud web-app: go to the "Locations"
  2. Select the printer type as "Sticker" 
  3. Choose the correct paper roll size (40mm or 50mm).
  4. Follow the same Bluetooth or USB setup steps to connect the printer.
            

Step 4: Refilling Paper Rolls

To ensure smooth operations, refill your printer with paper rolls or stickers as follows:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press the ‘Open’ button on the side of the printer.
  3. Remove the used paper roll or stickers, if any.
  4. Insert the new paper roll or stickers into the slot and pull some material out of the feed.
  5. Close the cover and turn on the printer.

FAQs

  1. Can I use both a docket printer and a sticker printer simultaneously?

    1. No, you cannot use both printers at the same time.
  2. When will my order invoice print?

    1. If "Auto-Accept Orders" is enabled: The invoice prints when the order is received.
    2. If "Auto-Accept Orders" is disabled: The invoice prints when the order is manually accepted.
  3. Can I charge my klikit device while using a printer?

    1. For USB printers: Use a USB-C hub with multiple ports to print and charge at the same time.
    2. For Bluetooth printers: Connect the printer via Bluetooth to print and charge at the same time.
  4. What information is printed on stickers?

    1. Order ID
    2. Order Type (e.g., Dine-in, Take-out, Delivery)
    3. Item name
    4. Modifiers or add-ons
    5. Date
    6. Item count per Total items in Basket (i.e. 1/3,  2/3…)

  5. How do I unpair a Bluetooth printer?

     
    1. Go to your klikit device’s Bluetooth Settings.
    2. Select the paired printer and choose Unpair.
    3. Follow the same steps to re-pair the printer if needed.
