What is klikit Loyalty?

With klikit webshop, your business gets access to a world-class Loyalty program similar to ones employed by Starbucks ® and McDonalds ®.  These programs are designed to incentivise your customers to order directly through your channel, and can assist with something we call 'Third-Party Attribution' - basically tracing back delivery orders and mapping them to your customer database.  Let us explain how it all works.

How does klikit Loyalty work?

Our loyalty program at klikit is a modular and customisable system that rewards users for spending their dollars with you directly, offering them points for total dollars spent.  We work with your team to build a conversion rate for these points and then - as customers spend on Webshop - these points accumulate on their profile.  

This is great for a few key reasons;
  1. Users don't need Physical Cards
  2. Loyalty is linked to Mobile Number
This means that you not only save money managing a manual process, but if you opt to use klikit as your POS system - users can receive their loyalty points from offline transactions too.  On points, it's important to note here that we enable two kinds of point systems with klikit Loyalty - klikit Loyalty (Open Loop) and Business Loyalty (Closed Loop).  We'll explain both below.



What is klikit Loyalty vs. Business Loyalty?

1. klikit Loyalty (Open Loop)

We'll start with Closed Loop as it's the easiest to understand relative to other Loyalty Points in the market.  These are points earned per transaction which can be redeemed across all Brands and Branches under your business.  As a result, it makes bringing back business a breeze - customers spend directly with you, and then receive points to redeem for discounts on their next direct purchase.  Generally speaking this program is the default for Loyalty.

    1. Customers can earn and redeem points across all participating klikit merchants.
    2. It fosters cross-business rewards, much like a universal loyalty program.
    3. Businesses benefit from insights into cross-sell data and shared customer behavior analytics.
  2. Who pays for the Loyalty program?
    1. klikit provides some level of cross-subsidy in partnership with our participating merchants - as we believe a rising tide will lift all boats.
    2. Weekly reimbursement for klikit-funded discounts is transferred to the business’s Payment Collection account.
  3. How do customers earn points?
    1. Customers earn points with every purchase, either online or in-store. 
    2. Points are linked to their mobile number or email—no physical card required.
    3. Businesses set specific earning rates (e.g., PHP 10 spent = 1 point).
  4. How do customers redeem points? 
    1. Redemption options are presented during checkout, both online and at the cashier.
    2. Customers can redeem points at any klikit merchant.
  5. What are the benefits of this Loyalty program?
    1. Businesses can design a program tailored to their needs, encouraging repeat customers.
    2. Offers exclusive rewards specific to the business, strengthening brand loyalty.

2. Business Loyalty (Closed Loop)

The other system we have is called Open Loop and is a little bit different.  As more and more merchants join klikit - we are able to provide users with a smaller scaled points system for their purchases that enables them to redeem discounts at any participating klikit merchant.  This is a lot like AMEX® and provides your Webshop and Loyalty Program with a competitive offering that sees you alongside a range of other businesses.  As part of your participation in this program, we provide you Quarterly (i.e. 3-month) insights into cross-selling data and where else your customers are shopping and spending.  This helps your teams explore new concepts and build a more complete picture in your customer database.
  1. What is it?
    1. Points earned are tied to a specific business and can only be redeemed at that business’s branches or brands.
    2. Businesses retain full control over point earning and redemption thresholds.
  2. Who pays for the Loyalty program?
    1. The business fully funds the discounts availed by customers.  This is why getting your Points Scaling (i.e. $1 = 1 Point) is incredibly important.  
  3. How do customers earn points?
    1. Customers earn points with every purchase, either online or in-store. 
    2. Points are linked to their mobile number or email—no physical card required.
    3. Businesses set specific earning rates (e.g., PHP 10 spent = 1 point).
  4. How do customers redeem points?
    1. Redemption options are presented during checkout, both online and at the cashier.
    2. Points are only redeemable within the specific business where they were earned.
  5. What are the benefits of this Loyalty program?
    1. Businesses can design a program tailored to their needs, encouraging repeat customers.
    2. Offers exclusive rewards specific to the business, strengthening brand loyalty.

  1. Every week we review the Loyalty transactions that took place and remit the discounts from klikit Loyalty that were funded by klikit to your Payment Collection account (i.e. where your webshop payments are remitted to).  You can also see a report of Loyalty transactions that took place in klikit Analytics Plus.

FAQs

Can businesses exclude specific brands or branches from loyalty programs?

No, loyalty programs currently apply universally across all branches and brands of a business once activated.

How do I set up loyalty programs for my business?

Contact your klikit account manager or use the Live Chat feature in the klikit Business app to:
  1. Activate klikit Loyalty or Business Loyalty.
  2. Configure points earning and redemption settings.

How do I configure business loyalty?

You'll be able to set-up the following:
  1. How much points can be earned based on how much spend
  2. How much discount is provided based on how many points are used.
Do take note this is a fixed amount. For example:
  1. A customer earns 10 points for every PHP 200 spend
  2. A customer must redeem 100 points for a PHP 100 discount
This means that if the total basket size of the customer is PHP 300, the customer only earns 10 points.

If this is the way your Business Loyalty is set-up, customers are not allowed to:
  1. Earn 5 points per PHP 100 spend
  2. Redeem a PHP 50 discount with 50 points.

How can customers view their points?

Customers can check their loyalty points balance anytime through the klikit Webapp by:
  1. Clicking the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
  2. Selecting the "Rewards" section.

This is how it will look like on the customer's device should a store have both available. 


What happens when an order using a loyalty discount is canceled?

Redeemed points and rewards are considered used and will not be refunded to the customer.
This maintains the integrity of the loyalty system.

How does klikit ensure transparency?

Detailed transaction logs are available in klikit Analytics Plus for both loyalty programs.
Weekly reports summarize klikit Loyalty redemptions and reimbursements.
